At this point a three dimensional representation of the drawing will be created. Some artists describe this process, which is the most time consuming part of the creation of modern fireplaces, as "finding" the sculpture inside the stone block. The drawings are transferred to the stone to the exact measurements, with specific adjustments made according to needs. Then the images are shaped, and all the details are eventually carved out of the stone with specialized chisels, hammers and other tools. Then the pieces are shipped and delivered to wherever the fireplace is to be installed.
It does not utilize wood so they are against the environment. Use of an electric fireplace doesn't produce any pollutant or harmful chemicals. There is no release of smoke from this kind of fireplace so there is no need for a chimney or venting system.
Aside from keeping the warm air from escaping, the doors act to keep the hearth clean just as a fireplace screen used to do in the olden days. With the doors closed, ashes and embers don't scatter about the room, keeping the carpet or rug clean and scorch-free. The doors also have built in devices that divert air towards the bottom of the fireplace. These vents make the fire burn brighter and easier to light.
